Red Rocks Amphitheatre: The Visitor Guide to the Rocks
Updated Oct 28, 2026
Plan a visit to Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado: hours, parking, shuttles, bag rules, accessible seating and where to check tickets.
What Red Rocks Amphitheatre is
Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre sits at 18300 W. Alameda Parkway, Morrison, CO 80465, and the venue phone number is 720-865-2494. It is an outdoor amphitheatre, so shows happen in whatever Colorado weather turns up, including full sun, strong winds and severe rain or snow.
The park is open from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset every day of the year, and the Red Rocks concert season runs from March through November. Red Rocks Park and its trails follow the same sunrise-to-sunset window.
On event days the amphitheatre is open one hour before sunrise to approximately 2 p.m. The amphitheatre usually closes to the public after lunch, around 2 p.m., for sound checks and other operations, and it may close at any time on a day when a concert is scheduled.
Two things are free to know before you go: admission and parking are free to visit Red Rocks Park, the Amphitheatre, the Visitor Center and the Trading Post. Access to the amphitheatre itself is subject to scheduled events, and a ticket may be required for admittance.

Getting to Red Rocks: carpools, drop-offs and shuttles
The official pages name the drop-off points rather than a rail or bus route. For a ride service, drop-off points are the Upper North Lot and the intersection of Red Rocks Park Road and Trading Post Road. If you are dropping off someone attending an event, you can use Top Circle Lot via Entrance 1, or the Red Rocks Park Rd/Trading Post Rd intersection via Entrance 2.
If you are dropping off someone with a disability that requires the accessible shuttle, drop off at the Upper South Lot via Entrance 3. Limousines may drop off at the Top Circle Lot or in the Upper North Lot at the discretion of Traffic Control Staff, and limo and shuttle bus drop-off is at the Top Circle Lot.
For carpooling, concertgoers can set up a carpool through the WayToGo Program from the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG). After you enter the park, Traffic Control will guide you to a parking space. Plan for some walking either way: you may have to hike depending on where you are dropped off, and routes from parking lots to the gates may be partially dirt or uphill, so wear comfortable walking shoes.
Complimentary Red Rocks Shuttles run throughout the park during ingress, helping patrons from farther locations reach the amphitheatre entrance gates at no charge. The official pages do not state a walking distance or journey time from a main transit stop.
- Ride service drop-off: Upper North Lot and Red Rocks Park Road at Trading Post Road
- General event drop-off: Top Circle Lot via Entrance 1, or Red Rocks Park Rd/Trading Post Rd via Entrance 2
- Accessible shuttle drop-off: Upper South Lot via Entrance 3
- Complimentary ingress shuttles run throughout the park to the entrance gates
Entrances, seating and finding your spot

Inside, accessible seats are in Rows 1 and 70, with entry for Row 1 ticketholders at the Southeast entrance.
Seating is wooden benches with concrete walkways, so a cushion is a friend. Stadium seats and seat cushions are allowed if they are under 18 inches wide and have no legs. Seating charts vary by event, so reference your ticket for your specific seat location.
Wheelchair accessible seating is in Row 1 and Row 70, and folding chairs are provided for those rows. Rows 2 and 3, seats 6-13 are reserved for guests with limited mobility, and Rows 2 and 3, seats 14-21 are reserved for guests who have low vision, are blind, deaf or hard of hearing. Food and drink: what you can bring
You can bring food for personal consumption, but it has to travel tidy: all food must be in a clear plastic bag of one gallon or less, fruit and vegetables must be sliced, and only plastic utensils are allowed. Empty, reusable water bottles (Nalgene, aluminum or stainless steel) of 32 oz. or less are permitted, and non-alcoholic beverages in factory sealed plastic containers of 32 oz. or less are allowed unless the show prohibits them. Some shows may require the removal of lids when you enter.
Hydration packs are allowed up to 2L, must be emptied of all liquid, and can have no more than one pocket in addition to the one holding the water reservoir. Diaper bags and breast pumps are permitted.
Alcohol works differently inside and outside the gates. Red Rocks allows the consumption of full-strength beer and wine in the park and parking lots, but alcoholic beverages are on the prohibited list for the amphitheatre, along with glass bottles or objects and aluminum cans. Please do not bring glass bottles or other containers into the parking lots, park or amphitheatre. Beer kegs, hard liquor, vending, glass and large quantities of alcohol are prohibited, and State Laws still apply.
Tailgating must be confined to the rear of your vehicle and not interfere with the parking of other vehicles. Due to the risk of fire, open flame fires and charcoal grills are prohibited; small gas-controlled grills are allowed unless temporary fire bans are in effect.
