Hollywood Bowl Venue Guide
Updated Oct 28, 2026
A practical guide to the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles: address, Metro and shuttle options, seating types, picnic rules, bag policy, accessibility and show times.
What the Hollywood Bowl is and what to know first
The Hollywood Bowl is an outdoor amphitheater at 2301 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90068. It is run by the nonprofit Los Angeles Philharmonic Association.
The Bowl suggests arriving at least 90 minutes prior to a performance, and separately recommends being at the gates at least 30 minutes before the event start time.
Seating is not uniform. Box Seats are canvas-covered collapsible chairs in groups of four or six surrounded by wooden partitions. Super Seats are stadium-style seats with built-in cup holders set in the center of the theater. Bench Seats start right next to the Terrace boxes and go all the way to the top. Large video screens on both sides of the stage give a close-up view from any seat.

Getting to the Hollywood Bowl
The easiest way to reach the Bowl by public transportation, according to the venue, is the Metro B Line (Red) to the Hollywood/Highland Metro Station. The official pages do not state a walking route, distance or walking time from that station to the venue.
Bowl Shuttles run continuously from four locations closer to the Bowl through the start of the concert. Those lots are Ventura Blvd., LA Zoo, Burbank Metrolink and Ovation Hollywood.
Shuttles are free with a GoMetro Round-Trip Pass, Metro TAP card or Metrolink ticket. For free shuttle travel with a TAP card or Metrolink ticket, travel must have occurred within the previous two hours via bus or subway. Valid Metrolink tickets are accepted at the Burbank Metrolink lot.
Park & Ride lots are located across LA County, and a bus takes riders straight to the Bowl and returns them to their lot after the performance.
Buses and lots for the Bowl Shuttle are wheelchair accessible.
- Metro: B Line (Red) to Hollywood/Highland Metro Station
- Bowl Shuttle lots: Ventura Blvd., LA Zoo, Burbank Metrolink, Ovation Hollywood
- Shuttle departures from lots begin 2.5 hours prior to concert; the last shuttle departs each lot at concert time
- Bowl Shuttle and Park & Ride buses drop off and depart from the Bowl at the top of Lot B
Gates and how seating is laid out
Ticketed access to the amphitheater is by gate time rather than a single posted door time. The venue directs patrons to refer to the gate time on their concert's detail page for ticketed access to the amphitheater, barring stage delays, and recommends arriving at the gates at least 30 minutes prior to event start time.
Seating is described by type rather than as numbered levels on the pages checked. Box Seats are canvas-covered collapsible chairs in groups of four or six surrounded by wooden partitions. Super Seats are stadium-style seats with built-in cup holders in the center of the theater. Bench Seats start next to the Terrace boxes and continue to the top. Large video screens on both sides of the stage provide a close-up view from any seat.
