Barclays Center: The Brooklyn Venue Guide

Updated Oct 28, 2026

A practical guide to Barclays Center in Brooklyn: address, subway and LIRR routes, entrances by corner, bag rules, food, accessibility and parking.

The short version

Barclays Center is at 620 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217. It is an indoor arena with five levels: Event Level, Main Concourse (Street Level), Barclays Suite Level A, Suite Level B and Upper Pavilion.

A few things worth knowing before you leave the house: tickets are digital only, printed tickets are no longer a method of entry, and screenshots are not valid at the door. Barcodes generate 24 to 72 hours before the start of the event. There is no re-entry, and Barclays Center does not offer a bag check or coat check.

Seats vary in size and run between approximately 17 and 22 inches in width, so the seat map is your friend when you are choosing. Restrooms are on every level, and all gender restrooms are on every level too. The venue is certified as a sensory inclusive venue.

One heads-up for the easily startled: pyrotechnics, flashing lights, lasers, fog, noisemakers and other loud noises may be used during games or concerts.

Getting there

Public transit is the easy answer here. The trains stop at Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, directly below the arena; once you exit your train, follow the signs in the station to Barclays Center.

Barclays Center lists nine different subway lines plus the LIRR serving the venue, noting it is eight minutes from Wall Street, 18 minutes from Penn Station and 20 minutes from Times Square or Grand Central Station. The 2, 3, 4, 5, B and Q stop at Atlantic Ave, while the D, N and R stop at Atlantic Ave-Pacific St. The full train list published by the venue is 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, R, Q and LIRR.

Two alternates are spelled out by the venue. You can take the train to Fulton St, which stops at Fulton Street and Lafayette Avenue, then go two blocks south to the arena. You can also take the train to Lafayette Av, exit and go west toward Fort Greene Place, then turn left to get to the arena; that station is not accessible.

On the LIRR, Atlantic Terminal station is across the street from Barclays Center and sits within LIRR's Zone 1. Trains run to and from Jamaica Station every 8 minutes at peak hours and every 20 minutes during off-peak hours.

By bus, the B25, B26, B37, B38, B41, B45, B52, B63, B65, B67 and B103 all stop near Barclays Center.

Driving in? Drop-off and pick-up zones are covered in the parking section below, because the arena itself has no on-site public or employee parking.

  • Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr: 2, 3, 4, 5, B, Q
  • Atlantic Ave-Pacific St: D, N, R
  • Fulton St at Fulton Street and Lafayette Avenue, then two blocks south
  • Lafayette Av: west toward Fort Greene Place, then left (not accessible)
  • LIRR: Atlantic Terminal, across the street, Zone 1

Entrances, gates and finding your seat

If you are on the GA Floor, there is one rule to remember: GA Floor ticket holders must enter at the Atlantic Entrance.

Inside, escalators connect the Main Concourse and the Upper Concourse on the north and south sides of the building, and at the VIP Entrance connecting the Main Concourse and Barclays Suite Level A. Elevators for guests with disabilities are available on the Main Concourse, Barclays Suite Level A, Suite Level B and Upper Concourse, with predesignated elevators leading to the Event Level for ADA needs.

A couple of quiet corners worth knowing about: the Meditation Room is on the Main Concourse near the Atlantic Entrance, and the Greyson Mathews Sensory Room is outside Section 17 on the Main Concourse, open for all events from the time doors open through the end of the event, with children accompanied by an adult. Nursing pods are outside Section 12 on the Main Concourse and Section 213 on the Upper Pavilion, and baby changing tables are in every restroom except the restroom amenities on the event level. Food and drink

Levy Restaurants is the venue's exclusive concessionaire, and Barclays Center's Brooklyn Taste program seeks to bring authentic neighborhood staples into the arena. Gluten-free food options are offered at events; Levy Restaurants can be contacted at 917-618-6300 for more information.

Outside food and beverage is not permitted, with exceptions for medical requirements and special needs. Guests with specific dietary needs due to medical conditions or special needs should contact Guest Services at 917-618-6111 or [email protected] before attending to arrange accommodations. Medically required beverages, liquid prescription medication, or small amounts of sealed food required to take medication can be allowed into the arena, and baby bags, plastic bottles and formula are permitted.

On the drinks side, Corona and Modelo are available at concession stands, at Grab & Go locations outside Sections 24, 206 and 226, and at bars. Prisma Pinot Noir, Prisma Sauvignon Blanc and Ramona Spritzers are available at bars on the Main Concourse and Upper Pavilion.

Bar rules to plan around: guests who appear younger than thirty will be asked for positive identification before being served alcohol, there is a maximum of two alcoholic beverages sold to each guest per purchase per valid ID, and alcoholic beverages will not be served in containers larger than 24 ounces. Alcoholic beverages must be discarded before exiting the building.

Some concessions locations are cash-free. Water and drinking fountains are on all levels, and outside food rules still apply, so plan accordingly. Glass bottles and metal canisters are strictly prohibited; guests must dispose of unauthorized items before entrance or return them to their vehicle.

Parking, drop-off and bikes

Parking at Barclays Center is very limited, and there is no on-site public or employee parking, a choice the venue describes as reducing single occupancy vehicle use. SpotHero, a parking reservations app, is an Official Partner of Barclays Center; the official parking page is the place to check reservations and prices, and no prices are confirmed in the sources checked here.

For drop-off and pick-up, two zones are designated along Atlantic Avenue outside the VIP Entrance and the Atlantic Entrance, with one additional zone along Flatbush outside the Main Entrance.

Cyclists get 100 bike parking spots on-site.

  • 100 bike parking spots on-site

Bags, screening and what stays home

Bags larger than 10 by 6 by 2 inches are not permitted inside Barclays Center, and hard-sided bags are on the prohibited items list. Backpacks are not permitted. Special consideration is made for guests with medical needs and those caring for infants, and the policy does not apply to credentialed media. Baby bags, plastic bottles and formula are permitted.

Barclays Center does not offer a bag check service and does not provide an area to check coats or personal belongings, so travel light. All guests entering are subject to security screening, visual inspection and bag inspection by Barclays Center Security personnel, and all bags are subject to thorough screening and will be x-ray screened where available, which may delay entry.

Cameras with telephoto or interchangeable or detachable lenses and external flash are not permitted at any time; the prohibited items list also names lenses greater than 3 inches, monopods, bipods and tripods. Smart phones are permitted unless a particular show's promoter or performer prohibits them, and audio or video recording devices may not be brought in. Binoculars are welcome for most events, and umbrellas are permitted but must remain closed and stored away during an event.

Weapons of any type are not permitted, including firearms, ammunition, explosives, stun guns, handcuffs, brass knuckles, sticks, clubs, batons, martial arts instruments, pepper spray, mace, tear gas, knives, pocket-knives, blades, sharp objects, flame-producing items, hammers and other tools. Loose batteries, or batteries not used in a working permitted device, will not be allowed in.

Also on the prohibited list: cans including aerosols, bottles, boxed liquids, and metal, glass or other insulated containers; laser pointers or flashlights; fireworks, missile-like objects, Frisbees and other projectiles; balloons, beach balls and other inflatables; selfie sticks, poles, and coolers of any size including soft-sided coolers; noisemakers, air horns, bells, bull horns and whistles; drones or other remote controlled or tethered flying objects on the property; skateboards and rollerblades; and guests without shoes or shirts. Unlawful drugs and substances are prohibited, though current prescription medication in the original container is permitted with identification matching the prescription container. For certain sporting events, 24 ounce or smaller reusable water bottles are allowed, and glass is not allowed by any means.

Barclays Center is a non-smoking venue and property, electronic smoking devices may not be used inside, and the immediate area around the arena is a non-smoking campus. There is no re-entry.

On entry logistics: all tickets must be accessed digitally, printed tickets are no longer a method of entry and screenshots are not valid. Ticket barcodes generate 24 to 72 hours before the start of the event. Tickets purchased internationally will be delivered as mobile tickets and will not be mailed. Will Call is available for pick up at the American Express Box Office in the Main Atrium. Non-event day box office hours are Monday through Friday 12:00PM-6:00PM and Saturday 12:00PM-4:00PM, with Sunday closed.

A note on where tickets come from: the venue encourages guests to purchase through authorized outlets only, online at Barclayscenter.com or at the Barclays Center Box Office, and states it will not be able to check validity of tickets purchased from third-party sources.

Children under 2 may enter free of charge for all sporting events and most concerts but must sit on the lap of an accompanying ticketed adult; any child who has reached their 2nd birthday will require a ticket and must occupy their ticketed seat only. Strollers are not permitted in the seating sections due to potential safety hazards, though they may be checked into the Main Guest Services Center on the Main Concourse and are allowed in suites.

Wheelchair users and guests with mobility devices can arrange storage at Section 112 on the Main Concourse and Section 212 on the Upper Concourse, and free Wi-Fi is available to all guests at events.

Finally, access lanes: expedited entry through a dedicated lane is available for CLEAR Members at the Flatbush Entrance. Guests attending games should note that fans dining in Crown Club may enter two hours before tip-off.

  • Bags must be 10 by 6 by 2 inches or smaller; no backpacks, no hard-sided bags
  • No bag check and no coat check, so pack light
  • No re-entry at any point
  • Digital tickets only; screenshots do not scan
  • No smoking anywhere on the campus

Door and start times

The official Barclays Center pages reviewed here do not list door or start times for individual events. Those times are set per event and appear on the official event page and on your ticket, so check both before you travel.

What the pages do say about timing: ticket barcodes generate 24 to 72 hours before the start of an event, and there is no re-entry, so arriving once and staying put is the plan. Fans dining in Crown Club may enter two hours before tip-off.
